Bexley Farmers Market: October 10
Thank you, Bexley!
“The surprise is that there really are a variety of reasons why people go to the farmers market. Those reasons go beyond the improved freshness and taste of a higher-quality product. In jargon-heavy academia, farmers markets fit into what theorists call “moralized markets.” In common parlance, we might say we’re shopping our values, or, put more politically, voting with our dollar.”
In 2015, Sarah McColl wrote The Reasons Why We Shop at Farmers Markets Are Bigger Than Local Food. And we agreed with her wholeheartedly then, just as we do today because “when we hand over cash for our local Cherokee Purples, we’re engaged in a lot more than food shopping.”
Our producers for market on Thursday, October 10 include:
Hirsch Fruit Farm
Dan the Baker
Two Roasting Joes
The Crazy Cucumber
Chuck Evans' MONTEZUMA Salsa & Sauces
Sweet Thing Gourmet
Ohio City Pasta
Fox Hollow Farm
Larry the Tie Dye Guy
The Finest Edge
Our Musical Entertainment: Jordan Lynch
Join us every Thursday through October from 4-7 PM, rain or shine!
